DATE ANNOUNCED: November 2019 POSITION: Faculty in Biology; tenure-track, assistant or associate TITLE: Assistant or Associate Professor in Biology STARTING DATE: August 2020 DEADLINE: Screening of applications begins December 9 and continues until position is filled. QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. by September 2020 in Biology, Microbiology, or related disciplines; ability and willingness to teach majors microbiology and cellular or molecular biology courses and contribute to general education, interdisciplinary, and team-taught courses; evidence of potential for teaching excellence; promise of continued scholarly activity; and willingness to support the mission of the College. Preference will be given to candidates with college-level teaching and research experience, ability to teach cell or molecular biology, and expertise that complements current faculty. RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach (the equivalent of) three 14-week undergraduate courses in both fall and winter terms including a Microbiology and a cellular or molecular biology course for majors, introductory biology, and a 4-week May term course; mentor seniors in research; advise student majors in the health professions; engage in scholarship and service appropriate to the liberal arts setting. SALARY: Competitive CONTRACT: Nine-month, tenure-track contract.
