The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis, seeks Postdoctoral Fellows to work in the Department ofBioscience Research. We are looking forhighly motivated postdoctoral fellows with strong enthusiasm in the field ofcardiac biology and differentiation of iPSCs or mesenchymal stem cells towards cardiomyocytes or other lineages or organ-in-chip technology. The expertise in testing stem cells therapeutic potential using rodent disease model is highly desirable. Our team has developed robust methods of generation iPSCs from different cell types including noninvasive method of generating iPSCs from urinary epithelial cells. We also developed iPSC derived cardiomyocytes for drug screening disease modeling and cardiac and bone regenerative therapies.
Candidate should be self-motivated with aproven track record of productivity and strong interest in cardiac or oral tissue or bone regeneration. He/She should be able to demonstrateexcellence in planning, executing and analyzing experiments. Meet routinelywith the principal investigator (PI) to update the project status. Involve intraining of students and fellows. Designand perform in vitro and in vivo experiments in stem cell research related tooral or cardiac cells/tissues. Design and conduct gene targeting experiments incells/tissues. Perform in vivo animal model research.
The mission of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center is to bring the benefits of the health sciences to the achievement and maintenance of human health, with a focus on the citizens of Tennessee and the region, by pursuing an integrated program of education, research, clinical care, and public service.
