The Duke Eye Center is accepting applications for a highly qualified pediatric optometrist to join the Division of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. Candidates with pediatric residency training or equivalent training and a strong background and interest in primary pediatric eye care are preferred. Experience with pediatric contact lenses and pediatric low vision particularly helpful. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The optometrist will be expected to function as an independent practitioner in delivering pediatric eye care. This faculty member will work with colleagues including pediatric ODs and MDs, and will be encouraged to participate in clinical education of trainees as well as relevant clinical research.
The position represents an opportunity for individuals with outstanding clinical skills to be in an environment in which optometrists and ophthalmologists work in concert with a multidisciplinary team. There will also be the opportunity to participate in a community-based Duke-affiliated practice as well.
