We are seeking passionate drug hunters to build our growing “spin-out” company – Kimia Therapeutics. Kimia is innovating drug discovery by combining Chemotype Evolution with state-of-the-art computational approaches to drug major disease pathways.
In this position, you will be working in an exciting, innovative environment. We are looking for someone to be responsible for developing and implementing cohesive automation platforms for the integration of high-throughput chemistry and drug screening workflows utilizing robotic liquid handling and assay readout platforms. The ideal candidate is a team-player who possesses both experience with translating scientific needs to automated workflows and a deep appreciation for interdisciplinary collaboration.
Lead the development and implementation of new protocols for lab instrumentation and robotic platforms.
Adapt in vitro assays to automated protocols
Run protocols that produce Chemotype Evolution libraries
Oversee automation instrument maintenance and troubleshooting to maximize operation uptime, and serve as main interface with service engineers
Evaluate and implement new enabling technologies and provide solutions that improve throughput
Train scientists in our technology, biology and chemistry groups, and provide guidance for troubleshooting protocols
This position provides opportunities for group management and project leadership
Required experience and skills
BS (+12 yrs), or MS (+10 yrs), or PhD and relevant industry experience with drug discovery, high-throughput screening, or related field
Experience with a wide variety of lab instrumentation especially liquid handlers, robotic platforms and scheduling software
Proficiency in programming for automation, robotics, and integration across diverse platforms
Ability to design user friendly data management tools to aid in easy experimental setup would be a plus
