This opportunity is (full-time, 1st shift)
In this role, you will:
Prepare cytology slides from Gynecologic and Non Gynecologic Specimens for microscopic examination and diagnosis by Cytopathologists and Pathologists.
Perform pre-analytical procedures including labeling, preparing aliquots, specimen processing, laboratory waste disposal and decontamination of laboratory areas
Accessions Gynecologic, Non Gynecologic, and Molecular specimens for microscopic evaluation by opening, verifying patient identity and sample integrity, labeling, entering information from the test requisition into the Laboratory Information System and preparation of the manifest.
Processing cytology specimens including Liquid Based Pap tests, fine needle aspirations, non-gynecologic smears and monolayers.
Performs daily and weekly maintenance and/or log sheets on equipment in laboratory to include changing the stainer, basic cleaning of equipment, and recording, monitoring, and calibrating temperatures
For this job it is recommended:
H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
Ability to listen, read, understand, and follow oral, and written instruction.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with employees, physicians, vendors, clients, and external agencies.
