Join us Wednesday, November 10th at 5:00 PM EST for an interactive panel discussion with members of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology to explore how you can find your life's calling at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City!
The Department of Laboratory Medicine provides testing of blood, urine, and other fluids that Memorial Sloan Kettering adult and pediatric patients require for diagnosing, staging, and monitoring the effects of therapy.
The Department of Pathology has precise histologic and cytologic classifications and testing for clinically useful genetic alterations in tumors allowing them to match individuals with the targeted therapies that are mostly likely to benefit them.
We maintain laboratories on our main campus, several outpatient sites in Manhattan, and various regional sites including Long Island, New Jersey, and Westchester. The MSK labs report over 4.7 million tests per year. Each month, Lab Medicine transfuses over 3,500 blood products and performs collections of donor blood and other products.
We use state-of-the-art technology and the most-advanced diagnostic techniques available to analyze thousands of tissue samples. Our Pathologists generate more than 170,000 diagnostic reports each year with improved accuracy due to newer technologies. We can further classify cancers and identify specific genetic and epigenetic alterations that drive tumor growth.
At Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK), we’re not only changing the way we treat cancer, but also the way the world thinks about it. By working together and pushing forward with innovation and discovery, we’re driving excellence and improving outcomes. For the 28th year, MSK has been named a top hospital for cancer by U.S. News & World Report. We are proud to be on Becker’s Healthcare list as one of the 150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare in 2018, as well as one of Glassdoor’s Employees’ Choice Best Place to Work for 2018. We’re treating cancer, one patient at a time. Join us and make a difference every day.
