Job Duties 50% - Mouse colony management: Maintain records of mouse breeding, collect samples for genotyping, perform genotyping, and monitor colony experimental assignments.
40% - Perform experiments to understand dystrophic cardiomyopathy. These will include development of molecular tools, enzyme assays, and other biochemical studies.
10% - Assist with various regulatory requirements in the laboratory and participate in reviewing grants and manuscripts.
All required qualifications must be documented on application material
Required Qualifications BS/BA in basic science, or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years. Willingness to work with mice in a research setting.
Demonstrated attention to details and organization Ability to perform basic laboratory calculations Experience performing molecular biology techniques (PCR and cloning) Basic understanding of cardiac physiology.
