APostdoctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. JulioCordero-Morales, Department of Physiology, University of Tennessee HealthScience Center. Dr. Cordero-Morales is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoralfellow. Experience in biochemistry is highly desirable.
Dr.Cordero-Morales research laboratory aims to understand the relationship betweenstructure and function of ion channels (e.g., mechanosensitive and transientreceptor potential ion channels) involved in somatosensation using amulti-disciplinary approach that includes molecular biology, electrophysiology, biochemistry, structural biology, and animal behavior.
Theposition will offer many opportunities to learn and apply a variety offunctional and structural techniques to study sensory ion channels, such as electronparamagnetic resonance spectroscopy, cryo-electron microscopy, molecularbiology, patch clamp, two-electrode voltage clamp, calcium imaging among others.
