The Wang Lab at the Division of Pulmonary Medicine at Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to support our basic research portfolio. The lab uses induced pluripotent stem cell technology and gene-editing techniques of CRISPR-Cas9 to study pediatric lung diseases, focusing mainly on cystic fibrosis. Successful candidate will also be working on one or more of the following projects: 1) Modeling various phenotypes of cystic fibrosis with iPSC-derived lung platform 2) Characterizing the function of iPSC-derived pulmonary ionocytes, 3) assessing how CF airway respond to SARS-CoV-2. The last project (3) is a joint collaboration with the BLS3 and BLS4 laboratories at the National Emerging Infectious Disease Laboratories (NEIDL), and candidate will be delivering cell cultures (prior to infection with the virus) to the NEIDL laboratories for SARS-CoV-2 infection by NEIDL trained staff. Candidate will then process safely-treated, non-infectious samples for down-stream analysis, and should not have any direct contact with live SARS-CoV-2 virus. The candidate will also have the opportunity to interact with world-class collaborators at the Harvard campus as well as outside institutions including Boston University.
