The Harvard Medical School Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBMI.hms.harvard.edu) at the Blavatnik Institute is seeking a senior faculty member to take a leadership role in applying machine learning to the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Successful candidates will be expected to lead a multidisciplinary team including collaborators at affiliated institutions in both developing and improving the diagnostic and treatment pipelines as well as collaborating if not directing trials of the applications of these pipelines.
Expertise in computer science and experience with biotechnology highly desirable as well as a track record of having led relevant efforts. Demonstrated academic performance and a record of mentorship equally important as well as a deep interest to mentor a new generation of talented biomedical informatics researchers. In addition to the anticipated start-up package for this tenured position, candidates will be expected to increase the impact of their work through conventional grant mechanisms and industrial collaborations.
