Specific Title: Clinical Chemist and Toxicologist Location: IU School of Medicine Department: IUSM - Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Campus: IU School of Medicine Indianapolis Position Announcement: The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Indiana University is seeking a clinical chemist to expand the therapeutic drug monitoring and clinical toxicology program of the Indiana University Health laboratory system. Applicants must have experience developing, using, maintaining, and optimizing testing methods on the following types of instrumentation: HPLC, GC, GC-MS, LC, LC-MS/MS, ICP-MS. The chemist will be responsible for technical leadership, training, quality assurance/quality control and regulatory compliance that are associated with laboratory-developed testing. In addition to toxicology, this position will participate in a rotating sign-out service for interpreting electrophoresis results. This position will also serve as laboratory director for the Indiana University Newborn Screening Laboratory. Additional responsibilities include clinical and/or translational research, laboratory administration, clinical consultation, and teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and graduate students in clinical toxicology. This position is expected to have a major impact within an academic medical center clinical chemistry laboratory and a large laboratory system looking to expand its toxicology and therapeutic drug monitoring services. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with the applicant's experience and training.
