Frontier Scientific is looking for a highly motivated individual to be a key contributor and team leader in its liquid handling services group. As a manager in this department, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for processing new client compounds, fulfilling inventory requests, and overseeing liquid sample reformatting projects.
Essential Functions:
Create, modify, and implement standard operating procedures as needed for small scale projects or large-scale collaborations, based upon clear understanding of client requirements
Evaluate operational efficiencies to quickly recognize efficiency bottlenecks and expedite implementation of effective solutions to maintain or exceed project timelines
Ensure all service level agreements are achieved on a daily basis and work with scientific staff directly to complete orders
Generate reports for internal and external review tracking orders, inventories, costs and billables
Communicate effectively through email, telephone, and in person with coworkers and clients
Instruct and manage a team toward achievement of short- and long-term goals
Qualifications
This is a service orientated position requiring attention to detail, ability to work as part of a team and interact routinely with the scientific staff at all varieties of research organizations
Proficiency with various liquid handling automation and software such as Tecan automation and software, Tomtec Quadra software, Labcyte Echo software and vial, rack, plate, tube, and mini-tube inventory management automation, with a variety of corresponding proprietary software applications
Strong data management skills and experience with Microsoft Office software
Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree with a minimum five years of experience working in a compound management or automation group and sample distribution utilizing automated systems
The candidate should have a thorough hands-on knowledge of activities related to many compound management processes, with a practical understanding of inventory management, solution production, quality control methodology, logistics management and service oriented practices
The individual must demonstrate a high level of personal leadership, be self-motivated, well-organized, and be able to think strategically
Good interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to work well within a team is a must, along with the ability to be responsive to research partners
Ability to communicate and maintain multiple safety guidelines
