Requisition Number: 2021-008 Business Unit: College of Medicine Department: Biochem and Molecular Biology 50000510 Reg-Temp: Full-Time Regular Position Summary: A postdoctoral position in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department at UNMC is currently available. This position will involve molecular biology, and mouse models to study pancreatic cancer. The potential candidate is expected to perform various molecular biology, cell and tissue culture techniques, handling and management of mouse colony, generation of GEM models to study pancreatic cancer progression and metastasis as well as testing of novel combination therapies against lethal PC. A postdoc will also identify novel signaling pathways associated with drug resistance, and metastasis using cell lines/preclinical mouse models through high-throughput technology opting global gene analysis. In addition, he will investigate the role of miRNAs in pancreatic cancer and their restoration in combination with chemotherapeutic drugs using in vitro co-culture, ex-vivo and in vivo mouse model systems. Required Qualifications: Applicants should have a Ph.D. and/or MD and prior experience in molecular biology and animal handling. Supplemental Qualifications: He/she should have at least two years of research experience. Strong background in cancer biology, working with genetically engineered mice. A candidate should have publications as the first author in the peer-reviewed journals. Salary Range: Salary Commensurate with Experience
