Reducing nutrient (primarily nitrogen and phosphorus) and contaminant (PFAS and pathogen) transport from dairy production systems and fields to surface and groundwater is a grand challenge for all of agriculture, and particularly so for Wisconsin dairy farms. Current trends in dairy production systems as well as off-farm waste streams are putting greater pressure on our landscape to store nutrients and filter contaminants and challenge the viability of the industry. To help address these issues, the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking an Assistant Professor to explore and develop innovative land and water stewardship solutions related to dairy production. The incumbent will perform research, teaching, and outreach in their area of expertise in ways that are relevant to dairy agriculture and related fields.
