The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine are seeking a faculty member to expand our translational research efforts in the field of pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The successful candidate will have either fellowship training in pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplantation or several years of experience at the faculty level. In addition, the successful candidate will have a track record of successful laboratory research, as reflected in publications and/or successful extramural grant applications, directly related to hematopoietic stem cell biology, preferably incorporating animal modeling and with a clear translational trajectory. The expectation is that this faculty member will spend approximately 20% effort performing clinical care with the Pediatric Transplantation and Cellular Therapy section, with the remainder of their effort focused on research. The Department of Pediatrics is composed of 389 Montefiore and Einstein faculty with 72 faculty in our affiliated hospitals, organized into 18 divisions covering all of the pediatric subspecialties in conjunction with several key surgical services. CHAM and Einstein provide a collaborative environment for multidisciplinary research among faculty. CHAM investigators are engaged in basic as well as clinical/translational research, health services research, comparative effectiveness research and quality improvement science. With a total grant portfolio exceeding $36.79 million in 2019, CHAM investigators are pioneering new approaches and therapies to prevent and treat chronic pediatric conditions, such as asthma, obesity, autism and sickle cell disease as well as life-threatening diseases of childhood, including cancer, neonatal lung diseases and infectious diseases.
