This is a grant funded position and is not eligible for severance pay.
The Department of Neuroscience is a basic science department that focuses on cutting-edge research in the areas of neurological disease. Dr. Giuseppina Tesco is supported by funding from the federal government and private foundations.
Under close supervision of principal investigator, conducts a variety of routine experiments following established procedures and protocols. There are two primary functions of this position: 1) culturing human ipscs and differentiating them in neurons and glia cells, 2) characterization of cultures with biochemistry, microscopy and molecular biology (protein extraction western blotting, elisa, immunostaining and microscopy, RNA and DNA extraction, PCR and QPCR, genome editing). Having prior experiences in stem cell culture and genome editing is a plus.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in science with up to 1 year laboratory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Advanced knowledge and experience with laboratory techniques and procedures * Knowledge of basic statistics
Special Work Schedule Requirements: May work with and be exposed to hazardous chemicals and materials, human/animal tissue and fluids, radiation.
