Dr. Keith Syson Chan's laboratory is seeking an early-stage postdoctoral scientist with proficient skills in molecular biology to investigate a novel outside-in-collagen receptor signaling and its transcriptional modulation of master regulators in collective cell migration, building on strong unpublished molecular regulation data and ChIP seq findings. The candidate must have a minimum of one first-author paper and should be a recent graduate (within one year). Candidates studying signaling transduction using CRISPR/Cas-mediated site-specific mutagenesis and domain swapping expertise will be highly preferred, experience in bioinformatic analysis of ChIP-seq results will be a plus. The candidate will be encouraged to venture into the broader roles of this signaling pathway in regulating the metastatic cascade, using many established in vivo models in our laboratory. Examples of the significant contributions in the field made by Dr. Chan's lab are found in the following publications: To learn more about Dr. Syson Chan, please visit: https://bio.csmc.edu/view/42843/chank3.aspx?_ga=2.221301016.1407711806.1570748924-1809342796.1564166095&_ga=2.221301016.1407711806.1570748924-1809342796.1564166095 The postdoctoral scientist will w ork independently but in close cooperation and in consultation with the Principal Investigator and other Research Scientist s. The postdoctoral scientist will perform routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout training period and m ay develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols. The postdoctoral scientist will be r esponsible for designing experiments, and assembeling data. He/she will a nalyze and interpret data , assist in preparation of grant proposals , and participate in publications and presentations as author or co-author. For eager postdoctoral scientists interested in applying for grant funding, mentorship will be provided, but there is no requirement for generating grant funding in this position
