Internal Job Number: P03740UF Description: The Department of Chemistry invites applications for one or more fixed-term, non-tenure-track full/part-time Instructor positions to teach on a term-by-term basis for the 2020-2021 academic year. Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Department Chair. Instructors may be needed to teach courses, either on-campus or Ecampus in the following areas: analytical, biological, bio-organic, general, environmental, materials, nuclear, and physical chemistry. The OSU Department of Chemistry serves a central role to the educational, research and outreach missions of the University – delivering over 50,000 student credit hours of instruction each year while maintaining a vibrant graduate program with over 100 PhD students. The Department conducts cutting-edge research and scholarly activities focused on all areas of chemistry important to biology, materials and the environment – including analytical, biological, bio-organic, environmental, materials, nuclear and physical chemistry. This dynamic setting is ideally suited for nurturing and supporting instructional faculty in their efforts to support the Department’s educational mission which impacts over 4000 students each year. Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty): Typically requires Master’s degree in discipline appropriate to the field of teaching/instructional tasks. Requirements : Master’s degree in Chemistry or closely related discipline appropriate to the field of teaching/instructional tasks. Teaching experience at the college and/or university level. An evident commitment to educational equity. This position may be designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU STANDARD 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months.
