COMMUNITY PHARMACY RESIDENCY program provides advanced education and training for pharmacists who plan to practice in a clinically focused community pharmacy setting. Experiences include a strong emphasis on ambulatory patient management in a community pharmacy setting. Residents participate in the provision of clinical pharmacy services including MTM, disease state management (DSM), collaborative drug therapy management (CDTM), transitions of care, point-of-care (POC) testing, and other patient-centered activities. Residents will also develop expert knowledge in creating financially sustainable clinical programs, as well as how to integrate research into practice. Other opportunities include publication writing, grant writing, formal leadership and personal development program, and a teaching certificate program. Currently UT’s program has multiple sites across Tennessee from Knoxville to Memphis and is one of the largest PGY1 Community Pharmacy Residencies in the country. Contact: Kenneth C.
