A postdoctoral scholar is to be hired to carry out studies linked to the goals and objectives of NIH DK1230042-01. Specifically, a position is available to analyze the biochemical properties of LCN2 and its ability to bind mitochondrial phospholipids. Skills to be utilized include recombinant protein purification, lipid binding, fluorescence measurements, mitochondrial metabolism assessment, phosphatidic acid transport.
25% Expression of His-LCN2 and purification.
50% Evaluation of LCN2 phosphatidic acid binding, PA transport, mitochondrial metabolism
25% Preparation and submission of grants and manuscripts
Required Qualifications: Minimum required qualifications include PhD in biochemistry or related discipline, experience with protein analysis.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with mitochondrial metabolism. Some experience handling of lipids and knowledge of lipid metabolism.
