Research Associate II- Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology
The Office of Research &Engagement at the University of Tennessee (UT) seeks applications for aResearch Associate in the Neurogenetics Laboratory of Department ofBiochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology. The Research Associate willperform various genetic, molecular, histological, and behavioral experiments tounderstand the biological clock ticking mechanisms in the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster.
Specific responsibilities for thisposition include:
*Purification of nucleic acids
*Construction of various recombinant DNAs
*Developmental, histological and microscopicanalyses of fly neurons
*Generation of transgenic flies
*Genetic crossings to establish desired flystocks
*Behavioral test and quantitative analyses of thedata
*Report the data to the research group
*Write manuscripts for publication
