The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Collegeof Dentistry, seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow to work in the Department ofBioscience Research. We are looking fora highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow with strong enthusiasm in the field ofstem cell research to discover novel epigenetic mechanisms in regulating normaland ischemic cardiac and oral disease tissues. Our laboratory is focused onelucidating the mechanisms and evaluation of epigenetic reprogramming ofinduced pluripotent stem cells. The candidate should be self-motivated with aproven track record of productivity and strong interest in cardiac disease, epigenetics and stem cell research. He/She should be able to demonstrateexcellence in planning, executing and analyzing experiments. Meet routinelywith the principal investigator (PI) to update the project status. Involve intraining of students and fellows.Designand perform experiments in epigenetic research in stem cell research related tooral or cardiac cells/tissues. Design and conduct gene targeting experiments incells/tissues. Perform in vivo animal model research. Perform experiments inthe field of epigenetic regulations of cardiac development. Study the role ofautophagy in disease pathogenesis.Conduct experiments to study the environment-host interactions, epigenetic disease markers, and ischemia reperfusion injury.
