APostdoctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Neeta Roy, Departmentof Ophthalmology, The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. This position is for a one-year appointment with thepotential to be renewed. Thepostdoctoral fellow will investigatethe pathogenesis of ocular surface diseases with special focus on dry eyedisease, ocular manifestations of graft versus host disease and treatmentrelated conjunctivitis in atopic dermatitis and the identification of minimallyinvasive and objectively measurable biomarker(s). The aim is to develop algorithmsfor diagnosis, classification and monitoring of treatment response in ocularsurface diseases. The work will involveprocessing and analyzing ocular surface cell population and tears forinflammation related markers. Researchtraining in the fields of immunology, cellular and molecular biology, experience with the techniques of immunoassays (cellular andprotein), cell culture, microscopy and standard molecular biology, and workingknowledge of flowcytometry and multiplex technology are highly recommended. Thepostdoc fellow is expected to workindependently, as well as work as a part of a research team. The applicant's publicationrecord and laboratory skills are pluses. Strong verbal and writtencommunication skills in English are required. The candidate is expectedto play a major role in the preparation of manuscripts and grants that arisefrom this work.
