The Price laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to help unravel basic mechanisms controlling RNA polymerase II transcription of human genes as well as specific transcriptional regulation of cytomegalovirus and other human pathogens. The lab uses a combination of molecular and biochemical techniques that includes in vitro transcription, genome editing with CRISPR, RNA-Seq, PRO-Seq and novel bioinformatics analyses. We are especially interested in the RNA polymerase II elongation control, the role of promoter proximal pausing, and the interplay of transcription and chromatin structure.
