The Rockefeller University seeks a Research Assistant, Molecular Genetics and Immunology to join Molecular Genetics and Immunology. The Research Assistant will participate in on-going projects such as developing and characterizing transgenic mouse lines to study antibody function in infectious diseases and cancer. Will perform bench work such as protein expression/purification, flow cytometry, ELISA, cloning, and maintaining mammalian cell lines. Responsibilities include weekly tail clipping, weaning, preparing DNA samples for PCR genotyping, maintaining a large mouse colony, and other related animal husbandry. Will assist with general laboratory organization and support duties.
Bachelor's degree in science required; educational emphasis in biology preferred. Must have a minimum of one year of previous mouse handling experience. Hands-on experience in a research laboratory preferred. Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task. Candidate must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
