In this position, the postdoctoral associate will help with examining the intersection between coagulation and inflammation. This project helps to address the issue of coagulopathy following traumatic injury. The postdoctoral associate will help to design biomaterials for use following traumatic injury. In addition to working on this project, the postdoctoral associate will engage with other projects in the lab including the biomechanics of blood clots. It is expected that this work will result in several publications as well as the potential for new intellectual property.
Minimum Education and Experience:
PhD in biomedical engineering, materials science, biology, immunology or other related fields. Familiarity with other basic lab practices and safety. Other degree levels will be considered if the applicant has the appropriate experiences and preferred qualifications.
Familiarity with cell culture and related analysis techniques (PCR, flow cytometry, immunoassays etc), animal models, handling of blood, and/or soft matter mechanics.
Experience in hemostasis/thrombosis, inflammation, and/or cardiovascular diseases is a plus.
Evidence of a strong publication track record and working well in teams.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Expect to spend several hours per day in the lab, which involves standing for long periods.
