Post Doctoral Fellow-imaging-genetics - (1900012M)
We are seeking two highly motivated postdoctoral fellows in the field of imaging-genetics.
The ideal candidate is expected to develop and apply statistical and machine learning methods to understand the patterns of neuroimaging-genetics for brain diseases with high heritability. The main research areas will include: (1) structural and functional brain connectome analysis; (2) GWAS; (3) genetics-imaging-brain disorder mediation analysis; and (4) graph based deep learning to explain phenotypic variance. The candidates will be supported by a strong collaborative team who are world-known experts in multimodal brain imaging and genetics for neuropsychiatric research and will provide access to the large -sample imaging-genetics data (both preprocessed and original) from the consortiums including ENIGMA, HCP, and UK Biobank.
The position is located in the University of Maryland School of Medicine at the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center, on the grounds of Spring Grove Hospital Center, Catonsville, MD.
Candidates holding a doctoral degree in a quantitative field, such as statistics, biostatistics, bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, mathematics or physics, with interest in imaging and/or genetics data analysis, and machine learning are preferred.
Candidates with strong computational skills (proficient in one of the programming languages R, Matlab and Python, and cloud computation experience) are especially encouraged to apply.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and will be equal to or exceed NIH postdoctoral stipends. Benefits will be in accordance with the University of Maryland's standard postdoctoral benefits.
