Dr.Liza Makowski, Department Medicine-Hematology, University of Tennessee HealthScience Center, is looking for an exceptional postdoctoral fellow to conductstudies on anti-tumor immunity as the role of the microbiome in breast cancertumor microenvironmentfor a multi PI (MPI)-funded position in conjunction with Dr. Joe Pierre (UTHSCDept. of Pediatrics and Microbiology, Immunology and Biochemisty. We use pre-clinical modelsof breast cancer combined with translational approaches. Expertise inmicrobiome and gnotobiotics, anti-tumor immunity, tumor microenvironment, andimmunotherapy is essential. Bioinformatics expertise is a plus. This fellowmust think independently to design and plan experiments, problem solve, and bean expert or gain expertise in typical biostatistics languages (like R) andinterfaces such as Caylpso. Knowledge of metabolism is a plus. Exceptional oraland written skills are required. This fellow is expected apply for grants (K,K99, F32, AACR, other postdoctoral grants) with the mentoring support of Dr.Makowski. Fellows will complete first and co-author manuscripts and presentfindings at local and national meetings. We are looking for an accomplished,organized, efficient, trustworthy, and dynamic personality to work with theMakowski lab in the UTHSC Center for Cancer Research.
