Seeking laboratory scientist for work focused on biochemical enrichment of neoantigen peptides from cells and tissues for further analysis by mass spectrometry. Candidate must have experience with biochemical laboratory methods, preferably affinity chromatography methods for enrichment of proteins and protein complexes. Experience with working with cell culture and/or tissues also a plus. The candidate will work closely with mass spectrometry-based proteomics experts for analysis of prepared samples, as well as a team of researchers focused on developing immune-based cancer treatments. Opportunities to learn new cutting-edge methods and technologies related to multi-omic analysis and immuno-oncology will be offered.
70% --- Responsible for conducting experiments • Follow and modify as necessary protocols for affinity enrichment of protein complexes and bound peptides from cell culture and/or tissue samples • Preparation of samples for analysis using mass spectrometry • Troubleshoot and optimize protocols
20% --- Compile, summarize and analyze data for review and presentation • Develop proficiency in interpreting and presenting results from mass spectrometry results on analysis of preparated samples • Write summary reports of results and discuss results and subsequent investigations with lab PI and research team • Participate in publication and presentation of results either as author or co-author
10% --- Independent review of project relevant scientific literature • Discuss possible experimental approaches with lab PI and research team • Assist with writing technical reports
All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.
Required Qualifications: --BS/BA and 2 years of related experience or a combination of education and work experience to equal six (6) years. --Demonstrated experience in biochemical laboratory methods including cell culture/tissue sample handling, affinity chromatography, and protein biochemistry. --Experience preparing written data report summaries and oral reports to the lab group. --Demonstrated experience maintaining accurate documentation in laboratory journal and reporting data and procedures obtained from projects. --Ability to work in a collaborative, team science environment.
Preferred Qualifications: --Experience working independently, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems that may arise with experiments is highly preferred. --Cancer biology experience --Molecular biology including RNA/DNA isolation, PCR and rtPCR
