The Zador lab has an opening for a postdoctoral fellow in neuroscience who will be part of the International Brain Laboratory (IBL). The IBL (https://www.internationalbrainlab.com/) is a new large-scale international collaboration in brain research, which combines the efforts of approximately 50 scientists in 22 laboratories toward understanding the brain-wide basis of a complex behavior.
The project will involve combining new technologies developed in the Zador lab, including BARseq and MAPseq, with multiphoton imaging in the context of the IBL task. The overall goal is to relate single neuron connectivity, gene expression and activity in the context of this behavior, to better understand the contributions of different neuronal types to this task. The project will involve a combination of imaging and data analysis. The successful candidate should have a strong background in both neuroscience and computation.
Candidates from non-traditional and/or underrepresented backgrounds, broadly defined, are strongly encouraged to apply.
Applicants should have a PhD in Neuroscience or related fields. Expertise or previous experience in systems/computational/circuit neuroscience, including in vivo two photon imaging and behavioral training, are useful but not required. Interested candidates should e-mail their application to firstname.lastname@example.org as a single pdf file with subject: Postdoc Application. The application file should include: (1) CV with the publication list, (2) a brief description of research interests, (3) contact information for three references.
In addition, the candidates should upload their application online at: http://cshl.peopleadmin.com/postings/17117

About Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory
Since 1890, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) has been a global leader in research and education. The international scientific community at CSHL provides a unique and stimulating atmosphere for doctoral research?an environment where students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty work side-by-side. The Watson School of Biological Sciences (WSBS) was founded on the belief that with well thought-out mechanisms, enthusiastic involvement of faculty, and highly motivated students, an innovative curriculum could be provided that would allow students to earn a doctoral degree in a shorter time than in traditional programs without compromising the quality of their training. The curriculum is designed to train students to become scholars and independent thinkers.
