The candidate's primary responsibility will be to help with knowledge discovery from electronic medical records, bioinformatics genomic sequencing and build predictive models using multiple source of health data. In that role the candidate will:
1. Pre-process and process analytic datasets for posterior modeling. 2. Set up and execute data mining algorithms and analyses aligned with the lead researcher approach. 3. Document the analytic processes and manage the analytic environment. 4. Assist the lead researcher in design and implementation of innovative data mining techniques. 5. Assist the lead researcher in preparation of papers and proposals.
Candidates with experience in data management and/or data analysis are preferred and a background or exposure to bioinformatics data mining, machine learning, statistics, genomic sequencing, linear algebra and/or programming will be valued.

Required Qualifications: - Masters degree and 2 years of related experience or BA/BS and 4 years of related experience. - Interest in data mining and willingness to learn data mining for use in his/her research. - Experience with data analysis. Knowledge of a high-level data processing or analysis language: SQL, R, SAS, Python, MATLAB or a similar language is required. - Familiarity with basic statistical data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications: Exposure to advanced data mining/machine learning or statistical learning concepts: multiple regression models, supervised and semi-supervised clustering analysis, deep learning, genomic sequencing in bioinformatics, etc. - Experience programming in scripting language: Perl, Python - Knowledge of the R Statistical Computing Environment - Knowledge of basic linear algebra and probabilistic theory
