Essential Functions: Investigate mechanisms of prostate cancer recurrence, minimal residual disease, and treatment resistance including; dormancy, cancer stem cells, signaling, and plasticity. Analysis of transcriptomics data using software such as DAVID and GSEA will be advantageous. Work with public databases of tumor genomics and transcriptomics to increase the translational relevance of the applicant's work. Lead and perform the majority of the experiments for one or more ongoing projects. Read and understand the relevant literature is essential, as is the ability to plan experiments. Clearly present findings in written and oral form. Teaching and assist junior members of the laboratory.
Qualifications: Doctoral degree in biology or a related field. Experience in biomedical laboratory research to the level required. Ability to utilize common biomedical laboratory techniques including: mammalian cell culture, siRNA transient transfection, lentiviral infection for gene manipulation, RNA isolation, qRT-PCR, western blotting, and procedures with laboratory mice.
