The Physics department at Syracuse University is soliciting applications for a post- doctoral researcher that will work in experimental biophysics and soft matter research is available in the group of Prof. Jennifer Ross at Syracuse University, Syracuse (NY). The candidate should be a recent Ph.D. in physics, biophysics, engineering, or a related field. Desirable experience should be in at least one of the following areas: soft matter, biomaterials, complex fluids rheology, single molecule biophysics, molecular biology and protein chemistry, and/or advanced imaging and fluorescence methods. The successful candidate will employ DNA-origami to create meso-scale active particles for rheological studies. The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility for renewal. These positions involve both fundamental and applicative research as well as advising graduate students in a highly interdisciplinary and self-contained research team.
