Responsible for monitoring wildlife activities and habitat management efforts while developing and implementing training programs and wildlife prevention measures in compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Maintains and manages the Airports Wildlife Hazard Management Plan.
2. Mitigates and eliminates hazardous wildlife and wildlife habitats on airport property and surrounding areas.
3. Evaluates and recommend preventative measures or actions to measurably control and contain the risk of wildlife strikes.
4. Traps, records, on zips, releases, and catalog plants, insects, birds, and mammals in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
5. Conducts inspections or audits as part of the scheduled Wildlife Hazard Management Plan.
6. Prepares daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to management and regulatory agencies.
7. Under FAA guidelines, recommends and implements training programs associates with wildlife control and habitat management.
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Zoology, Ecology, Life Sciences, Agriculture, Wildlife Management, Wildlife Biology, Wildlife Technology, aviation management, air traffic control aviation technology or related fields.
Two (2) years of experience in aviation assessments or wildlife hazard mitigation programs
Bachelor's or higher in a non-stated field plus (4) years of the specified experience will meet the education and experience requirements
Master's or higher in a stated field will meet the education and experience requirements
Certified Wildlife Biologist plus two (2) years of the specified experience will meet the education and experience requirements
