Posted Job Title Research Specialist BJob Profile Title Research Specialist BJob Description Summary A research specialist B is needed to run experiments investigating the evolution and biology of HIV and SIV. This position will support projects involving the isolation and characterization of HIV-1 and related simian-human immunodeficiency virus (SHIV) chimeras. This individual should understand DNA/RNA extraction cloning and genetic characterization. This individual should also know how to implement and troubleshoot PCR protocols including Single Genome Amplification, next generation sequencing library preparation, sequencing chemistries, and high throughput purification methods. Molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA purification, PCR, cloning, and western blotting will be used on a daily basis. Cell culture experience also preferred.This position is contingent upon funding.
