A postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Dr. Chris Pierce at Rutgers University is available immediately. A PhD in neuroscience or a related field is required. Past experience with rodent models of drug craving and addiction (specifically intravenous self-administration) is highly desired. A variety of experimental techniques used in our laboratory, ranging from molecular biology to optogenetics to electrophysiology, provide ample opportunities to examine the mechanisms underlying addiction in a multi-disciplinary manner. Rutgers also has a vibrant drug abuse research community with many options for collaboration.
