A Postdoctoral Fellowposition is available under the direction of Dr. Justin Gatwood within the Health Outcomes and Policy group inthe Clinical and Experimental Therapeutics Unit of the University of TennesseeHealth Science Center to contribute to our industry- and state-funded studiesfocusing on pharmacy practice evolution. Highly motivated applicants with astrong background in health services research, pharmacoeconomics, pharmacyadministration, and/or health behavior and a strong record of productivity areencouraged to apply. Additionally, those with interests in implementationscience, mixed methods, and practice-based research are encouraged to apply. ThePostdoctoral Fellow would join a team focused on improving health outcomes byexpanding the role of pharmacists to include medication counseling to at-riskpopulations, collaboration across practice sites, and a heightened focus onadult vaccination.
Dr. Gatwood's team is in the College of Pharmacy at theUniversity of Tennessee Health Science Center Campus in Nashville, Tennessee.within a vibrant academic biomedical community that includes VanderbiltUniversity Medical Center, St. Thomas Hospitals, and HCA as well as existingpartnerships with the State of Tennessee and opportunities for collaborationwith a flourishing healthcare start-up community. Excellent facilitiesand career development opportunities exist for postdoctoral fellows in thedepartment and across campuses. The training environment is fortified byapproximately twelve student pharmacists, three graduate students, an academicfellow, staff, and faculty.
