Job Description Summary
This position will be responsible for the performance of basic to moderately complex experiments related to biological and molecular analysis of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV). Molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA purification, PCR, and plasmid cloning will be used on a daily basis as will blood cell isolation and tissue culture.
The goal of our laboratory is to develop an effective HIV/AIDS vaccine. Research is conducted in human volunteers, rhesus macaque monkeys, and in cell cultures. This position will be responsible for the performance of basic to moderately complex experiments related to biological and molecular analysis of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV).Â Molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA purification, PCR, and plasmid cloning will be used on a daily basis as will blood cell isolation and tissue culture.Â
