In this role as a Research Software Engineer intern, you will work closely with team Research Software Engineers to build, develop, and optimize research software used in cutting-edge Princeton research projects. Projects currently underway support research and discovery in the areas of Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, Physics, Genomics, Politics, and more.
What you’ll be doing:
Analyzing software requirements
Designing, implementing, testing, deploying, and maintaining research software
Optimizing and tuning performance of existing code
Skills you bring to the table:
Excellent problem solving skills
An interest in the computation and programming profession
A curiosity about research software development best practices, tools, and techniques
Skills you will gain:
Best practices for developing research software through testing, continuous integration, documentation, version control, and collaborative software development
Experience using profiling tools and programming techniques to improve software performance
