A Research Associate is sought to assist the PI in his use of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) approaches such as RNA seq, ChiPseq, ATACseq) to study immune regulation in mouse disease models and human cancer. This position will primarily be based in the Immunology Department in University of Pittsburgh in Oakland but will also facilitate research in his human cancer immunology lab at the Hillman Cancer Institute. This individual will be an expert in NGS and will play a key role in shaping and driving its utilization in the Vignali Lab. Requirements: excellent record of graduate training (PhD or MD/PhD), a minimum of 5 years postdoctoral experience, background in fundamental molecular biology, cellular and molecular cell biology and/or immunology, and ability to supervise new graduate students, post-docs and technical staff. Extensive experience (at least 3 years) in NGS development and application is required. Qualified candidates will be expected to implement NGS current protocols, establish new NGS approaches (such as single cell RNAseq), provide NGS training and experimental design advice to Vignali Lab members, and peruse some projects independently that capitalize on NGS approaches and benefit the Vignali Lab research effort.
