The Maxwell Becton College of Arts and Sciences at FDU invites applications for a position at the tenure-track or tenured Associate Professor rank beginning August 2020. We are seeking a bi-lingual scholar in the Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) to be located predominantly on our Metropolitan Campus.
Applicants are expected to teach in their area of expertise and conduct an independent research program. In addition, qualified candidates must have experience working with a diverse student population and will be expected to take the lead in developing institutional grant proposals, with a special focus on HSI-specific opportunities.
For this reason, candidates must demonstrate a strong record of scholarship supported by peer-reviewed publications, and a record of grantsmanship. In addition, the successful candidate will have an ability to reach across the life science disciplines to work with faculty in the creation of new or revamped programs to serve the growing Hispanic population at the University.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in one of the life sciences. A record of successful grantsmanship. Have experience working with Hispanic students in STEM. Bilingual Spanish/English is required. A record of teaching effectiveness. Experience working with external communities is preferable.
