A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available immediately in Dr. Nalinikanth Kotagiri’s laboratory within the Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati, USA. We are seeking a motivated and creative postdoctoral researcher to develop novel microbial imaging and therapeutic strategies through microbial engineering. Experiments will include:
1. Mining microbes for endogenous molecule production, extraction, purification and chemical analysis using HPLC, MS, NMR.
2. Bacterial and mammalian cell transformations and analyzing transcriptomic datasets to identify regulatory mechanisms and improve chemical production.
3. Engineering of gene circuits and developing microbial vectors with new functions for validation in animal disease models.
Minimum Requirements: PhD in microbiology, molecular biology, synthetic biology, biochemistry, bioengineering or related field.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with microbial biochemistry, genetics, chromatography, molecular biology techniques (cloning, electrophoresis etc.), and animal handling is preferred.
