A Postdoctoral Research Scientist position under the supervision of Dr. De Nooij is available. Research in the de Nooij lab is aimed at understanding proprioceptor development and function using both in vivo mouse models, and in vitro ES/iPSC-based models. The current research position is for a project to discern the circuitry and function of distinct proprioceptor subclasses (e.g. group Ia/II muscle spindle afferents and group Ib GTO afferents). These studies will require a range of interdisciplinary approaches, including AAV/Rabies virus-based analysis of proprioceptor circuits, and the development of behavioral paradigms to assess the contribution of MS and GTO afferents in motor control.
