Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
High School Diploma/GED. Administrative experience to include data entry. Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Associate's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Business or a related field. Experience as a Data Entry Associate or Office Clerk. Experience using office equipment, like fax machine and scanner and/or knowledge of touch-typing system. Computer training or certifications (keyboarding, office database applications, etc). Basic understanding of databases (i.e. PeopleSoft, Oracle etc.)
Brief Description of Duties:
Stony Brook Foundation is looking for a Data Entry Associate to update and maintain information on the Foundation's databases and computer systems. The Data Entry Associate's responsibilities include collecting and entering data in databases and maintaining accurate records of valuable company information. This position will assist in all business areas within Stony Brook Foundation such as: Cash Receipts, Accounts Payable, journal entries and New Account establishment. Our ideal candidate has essential data entry skills, like fast typing with an eye for detail and familiarity with spreadsheets and online forms. The successful incumbent will have organizational skills with an ability to stay focused on assigned tasks.
Enter customer and account data - input text based and numerical information from source documents within time limits
Review data for deficiencies or errors, correct any incompatibilities if possible and check output
Scan and file paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost
Generate reports, store completed work in designated locations
Comply with data integrity and security policies; keep information confidential
Establish new files, create folders, and compile relevant material
Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes
Perform various clerical tasks such as distributing mail and answering phones
Other duties as assigned
