Postdoctoral Fellow/Microbiology, Immunology and Biochemistry
Memphis
A Postdoctoral Fellowposition is available immediately in the Department of Microbiology, Immunologyand Biochemistry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Thefaculty mentor for this position will be Dr. Ae-Kyung Yi. We are looking for ahighly motivated, recently graduated Ph.D. with expertise in immunology, cellular biology, molecular biology and/or biochemistry. A postdoctoral fellow with research interestsand experiences in the areas related to the molecular mechanisms of patternrecognition receptor signaling and/or T cell receptor signaling in connectionwith inhibitor receptor signaling, and/or the pathogenesis of chronic autoimmuneinflammatory diseases are preferred. Currently, the major research interests ofthe program are investigation on: 1) molecular mechanisms of interactionbetween T cell receptor signaling and inhibitory receptor signaling; 2) role ofinhibitory receptor in pathogenesis of autoimmune arthritis; 3) molecularmechanisms of a pattern recognition receptor (especially TLR and IL-1R familyreceptors) signaling pathway; and 4) the role of a signaling modulator in apattern recognition receptor signaling in the pathogenesis of chronicautoimmune diseases, such as arthritis and hypersensitive pneumonitis. The mainfunction of a postdoctoral fellow will be studying protein-proteininteractions, identifying structure-function relationship of signaling molecules, and investigating a molecular mechanism of inhibitor receptor signaling pathwayfor modulation of T cell signaling and pattern recognition receptor signaling, and their impacts on chronic inflammatory autoimmune diseases.
