We are seeking highly motivated scientist interested in biophysical research and single molecule techniques, e.g., single molecule fluorescence. Professor Lamichhane is interested in investigating conformational dynamics and the biomolecular interactions of complex biomolecules (protein dynamics, protein-protein, and protein-nucleic acid interactions) using the state-of-the-art single-molecule fluorescence. (https://bcmb.utk.edu/people/faculty/rajan-lamichhane/). The successful candidate will pursue independent research on conformational dynamics of membrane proteins, such as G Protein-Coupled Receptors (GPCRs). The Lamichhane Lab is in the newly constructed Mossman Building within the Department of Biochemistry & Cellular and Molecular Biology. The University is located in downtown Knoxville, situated in the Great Appalachian Valley and the Great Smoky Mountain. We are nearby Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), and we work in close collaboration with scientists in the Biophysics and Structural Biology program at ORNL.
