THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITYResponsibilitiesThe role of the Staff Research Associate I SRA is to conduct research activities and preform lab management duties related to neuroscience research entitled imaging neuromodulation with genetically encoded molecular probes. The research will involve skills using molecular cloning, mammalian and primary cell culture, stereotaxis injection and animal colony management. Lab management responsibilities include coordinating daily lab activities, ordering lab supplies, ensuring lab safety compliance with UC Davis regulations and guidelines, and overseeing student assistants and lab maintenance. Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience with stereotaxis injection and animal behavioral training.
Demonstrated ability and experience in molecular biology and cell culture techniques, e.g. PCR, competent cell transformation, and primary and cell line culture and transfection.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills to communicate clearly and effectively with lab researchers and vendors.
Demonstrated experience in maintaining safety training records, chemical inventory, and inventory records.
General knowledge of techniques, safety protocols and equipment used in the laboratory.
Experience with concepts, principles and practices of laboratory research.
Ability to multi-task, organize, prioritze and work on several projects at one time.
Ability to understand scientific papers and theories to apply in laboratory experiments.
