The Business Partnerships Officer is primarily responsible for the development of comprehensive, strategic revenue generation through business memberships, sponsorships and other support. S/he is responsible for driving corporate philanthropy and sponsorships by being a well-known member of the corporate giving community and working with the Advancement Events Coordinator to ensure that current corporate supporters have a top-quality sponsorship experience from gift acknowledgment and billing to benefits fulfillment and reporting. The successful candidate will have demonstrated fundraising experience, the ability to quickly establish relationships in Northeast Florida, good communication skills, as well as an outgoing and professional manner that well represents the Symphony in the community.
Identify and solicit businesses to generate revenue for the Jacksonville Symphony by cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a portfolio of approximately 125 qualified Business Partner prospects and donors through a robust calendar of cultivation, solicitation, closure and stewardship.
Schedule face-to-face visits, submit proposals, attend performances and create events to ensure tailored business engagement and a positive cultural experience.
Ensure consistent customer-focused service and benefit fulfillment at every touch point by working closely with support staff; attend concerts, engagement activities and events; maintain the professional and positive image of the Jacksonville Symphony’; oversee the design, printing and distribution of collateral materials associated with the Symphony’s business programs, including copy for Encore magazine, social media and the website; help arrange pre-concert stage announcements
With the VP and AVP of Advancement, develop and execute an annual strategy for renewing and increasing business support for the Symphony; measure progress towards stated goals
Manage portfolio constituent information, transactions and moves management in Tessitura; ensure that pledge reminders and invoices are generated and payments received
Work with Board of Directors and volunteers to increase corporate engagement and attendance; provide staff support to appropriate Board committees; Serve as a liaison to the Development Committee and its Business and Institutional Giving Sub-
Other duties as requested or assigned
Bachelor’s degree, with a minimum three years fundraising or sales experience
Excellent customer service and communication skills; fluency in English
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM databases, preferably Tessitura
Responsible, reliable and able to work daytime, evenings and weekends
Physically able to lift 35lbs, unassisted
Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation
Must have a positive attitude, be able to work as part of a high-functioning team, possess a passion for a Symphony’s role in the community, as well as the desire to share it with others
