Obtains diagnostic recordings, measurements, and calculations of cardiac ultrasound images and Doppler hemodynamic data (at rest and with stress), with or without contrast agents. Performs 3D echocardiography, strain imaging and advanced cardiac ultrasound imaging techniques. Recognizes normal and pathological conditions and modifies the examination accordingly.
Operates various types of ultrasound equipment, transducers, monitoring and recording devices. May be required to perform other noninvasive cardiovascular tests including, ECG and treadmill. Interacts with other healthcare professionals. Contributes to work organization and scheduling as a member of a self-directed work team. Floats to labs in other clinic locations. Required to take call after hours and/or on weekends.
Associate Degree in Health Science.
If registry eligible, must obtain RDCS credential from ARDMS within six (6) months of hire date.
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS).
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Recent hospital experience as a Cardiac Sonographer.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Registered Cardiac Sonographer issued by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
Congenital heart disease experience preferred.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
Capability to perform on-call including weekend when required.
