Department Description The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a School of Medicine academic/clinical department of approximately 32 faculty members, 50 Volunteer Clinical Faculty, 6 Staff Physicians, 6 Fellows, 28 Residents, and approximately 95 staff members. THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Clinical Research Coordinator provides support and coordination of the department's clinical research trials and other studies in adherence to University, federal, and sponsor guidelines for the purpose of ensuring smooth, accurate progress of clinical studies from the planning and approval stages through study completion and post-study closure. This position reports to the Clinical Research Supervisor and requires frequent interaction with the various research-related functional offices and programs such as the IRB, Health Informatics, Sponsored Programs, Health Compliance, Health Contracts and others. This position supports the Clinical Research Supervisor, acting as a lead in operational excellence of the Clinical Trials at UCD Health. Required Qualifications
Prior related experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator or equivalent in a medical or science-related setting with skills to include an understanding of GCP guidelines, data reporting, and IRB submissions/interactions.
Must possess and maintain certification as a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) and/or a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC or Associate (CCRA) through SoCRA and/or ACRP.
Minimum two years of experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator with demonstrated increasing level of responsibility and leadership.
Minimum two years experience in areas related to miscarriage, abortion, and contraceptive research.
Possess an advanced working knowledge of federal & state regulations, GCP guidelines, HIPAA, institutional policies, and SOPs for conduct of human subjects research in an academic environment.
College-level knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience in creating and maintaining electronic databases. Ability to manage organized filing systems.
Ability to independently create reports, forms, tables, and correspondence using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Ability to clearly document research data on tables, forms and other documents.
Excellent computer skills including all the Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), Medical software and electronic medical record systems, and the
use of the Internet. Ability to self-train to quickly learn new computer programs as needed.
Strong analytical skills with proven ability to analyze and interpret data, regulatory requirements, and policies.
Knowledge of Obstetrics and Gynecology as applied to clinical research.
